Mijas Beaches

Mijas has more than 12 kilometers of Coast, full of clean, well-kept beaches and coves. Two Mijas beaches, Playa La Cala and Playa La Luna have been awarded the prestigious EU Blue Flag for water safety, environmental management, and safety.

Nearly all of the Mijas beaches have toilets, showers, and parking facilities. Dogs are not allowed on the beach during the summers months and dog owners can expect hefty fines for breaking this law.

Playa La Cala, La Cala de Mijas: The most popular of all Mijas beaches, situated in the town of La Cala de Mijas. Plenty of beach restaurants and sun loungers to rent. There is also available adapted bathing for the disabled. Awarded EU Blue Flag.

Playa La Luna, Calahonda: A dark sandy beach, the seabed here is a mixture of sand and rocks. Sun loungers are for rent and there is one beach restaurant. Awarded EU Blue Flag.

Playa El Bombo, La Cala de Mijas: Lovely beach, Playa El Bombo is perfect for swimming as the seabed is only sand. A lot of sun loungers available to rent and four beach restaurants. There is a special platform to provide disabled access to the beach.

Butiplaya, La Cala de Mijas: Popular beach, the seabed here is sand only, making it perfect for swimming. No sun loungers available to rent here or beach restaurants although there are other places to eat very close by.

Playa el Almirante, Calahonda: A dark sandy beach, the beach is narrow in width and the seabed is a mixture of sand and rocks. Sun loungers are for rent and there is one beach restaurant.

Doña Lola Beach, Calahonda: A dark sandy beach, the seabed here is a mixture of sand and rocks. Sun loungers are for rent and there is one beach restaurant.

Playa Riviera, Riviera: The longest beach in Mijas, plenty of sun loungers to rent here. Dark sandy beach, the seabed is a mix of sand and rocks. There are two beach restaurants for you to enjoy here.

Playa Cabo Rococo: A narrow beach mixed with sand and pebbles, the seabed here is also a mixture of sand and rocks. Plenty of sun loungers available to rent and one beach restaurant.

Playa Las Doradas, La Cala de Mijas: Narrow beach with fine sand and seabed of a mixture of sand and rocks. There is one beach restaurant available and sun loungers available to rent.

Playa El Chaparral: Situated between La Cala de Mijas and El Faro, this beach has fine sand and the seabed is a mixture of sand and rocks. There are no beach restaurants on Playa Chaparral.

Playa el Charcón: Dark sand beach, the seabed is a mix of sand and rocks. One beach restaurant available and sun loungers for rent.

Playa Faro de Calaburras: Nice beach with fine sand. The seabed is a mixture of sand and rocks. There is one beach restaurant available with sun loungers available to rent.

Playa El Ejido: Fine sandy beach, seabed mixture of sand and rocks. One beach restaurant with sun loungers available to rent.

Playa Peñón del Cura: Another narrow beach, the sand here is dark and mixed with pebbles. The seabed is sand and rocks, no beach restaurants, or sun loungers to rent.

Playa Marina: Long and narrow pebble beach. The seabed here is mainly rocks, not for swimming. No beach restaurants or sun loungers for rent.
