Hotels Near Boston Theater District Guide Map
The Theater District has a number of decent hotels. The Park Plaza is an older hotel almost located in Back Bay area just across from the Public Gardens. The hotel has a number of restaurants and lounges right on the premises: Whiskey Park, Bonfire and McCormick and Schmick’s – specializing in seafood. Other hotels nearby are the Doubletree and Tremont Marriott Courtyard. These hotels are in the heart of the theater district within walking distance to Chinatown and all the theaters. We like the Radisson in this area. It has recently gone under a renovation, rooms are decent size and have Sleep Number beds and private balconies. Theaters in this area include the Wang Center, Wilbur Theater, Cutler Theater, Orpheum, Shubert Theater, Opera House, Colonial Theater, and the Charles Playhouse.
More towards the Downtown Crossing area is the Hyatt Hotel, another good choice if you decide to stay in this area – a four diamond luxury property. The area is perfect if you are going to take in a show or two at the theater. Remember, not all of Boston’s Clubs are in the Fenway, The Theater district is a hot spot for clubs and bars. At night the neighborhood can be a little on the seedy side – not terrible but you should not walk alone from the subway at night. Should be able to get a slightly better price on hotels in this area as compared to Back Bay.
