Strolling around Mijas, you are likely to encounter the delightful smells of paella, grilled fresh fish or chicken marinated in moroccan spices. With access to locally grown vegetables, fresh seafood and meat, Mijas has a reputation for excellent dining at very reasonable prices.



Mirlo Blanco Restarante

The Mirlo Blanco restaraunt is one of the most famous places to eat in Mijas. They specialise in Pais vasco food, have a beautiful terrace overlooking one of the main plazas and is highly recommended. They serve fantastic steaks, grilled fish and some not so popular Tripe and pigs trotters along with an excellent selection of reserva wines and the house red is quite good too. If you have enough room for dessert, the Grand Marnier based soufflé is fantastic and enough for 2-3 people. Open 13:00-15:45 & 20:00-23:00.

El Padrastro

Located above the town, you can walk up the long staircase or take the private elevator to this excellent restaurant. The menu is quite varied with several fish and meat dishes and they have an excellent selection of wines. The restaurant can feel quite formal and the waiters are a little serious especially with their white gloves. El Padrastro is the most popular venue for weddings in the village.

Tamisa

The Tamisa restaurant is a charming family run restaurant located just before the center of the village. The menu focuses on excellent Mediterranean dishes, specialising in seafood and meat, all at very reasonable prices. They also have an excellent selection of wines and the barbecue is located in front of the restaurant so you can watch your meal being cooked while you watch the world pass by.

Located beside the main bus stop in the heart of the village, this Indian restaurant is very good. All the staff are from the Punjab, India and the chef can cook food from several regions in India. Take-away also available.
